Sam and Rishay’s wedding

Published May 22, 2014 in Weddings

When I spoke to Sam well over a year ago with regards to her and Rishay’s wedding plans, I could barely contain my excitement- I knew this wedding was going to be AMAZING! Sam gave me carte blanche and I was like a kid in a candy shop with the colours, textures, pattern, details…… Every time I lifted my camera, another stunning shot full of jeweled colour, rich pattern and contrast  sprang into focus. Talk about drama and contrast…. The ceremony took place at Royal Meander Manor in Shaka’s Rock on a spectacular afternoon-breathless with perfect light To my absolute […]

The simple things in life….

Published May 18, 2014 in Peculiar to me

My life is frantic and my down time is my sacred time……I place huge value in quiet time- it is a time to regroup, replenish and take stock of all that has value for me. I had less than 48hrs of that this weekend, but I feel like I am back on supercharge! To arrive at Settlers with a sunset like this and the hounds baying for freedom…not much more is needed to make my heart happy! No sooner do Louie and Bebe smell ‘farm’ and chaos breaks loose in the car…the sooner they can run free the better…. We […]

Planned beyond perfect!

Published May 18, 2014 in Birthdays

I am so blessed to have shared in the memory making of so many special times with this beautiful family. My time stretches back to the 1980’s when I first encountered a blonde little girl with more passion and drive than most her age. Her incredible organizational abilities were strong when she was a little girl and have only grown since then- she is super mum, super wife, super friend…super woman- and lucky for her, fairy tales come true and she married SUPERMAN! Now I have never blogged a birthday, especially a little persons party, but I have to share […]

Chanelle and Dillen’s glamorous Durban wedding

Published March 21, 2014 in Weddings

I had met Dillen a couple of months before his wedding when he was a bestman at a wedding I was shooting, and there and then he said to me that I would be shooting his wedding! He was a whole lot of fun at that wedding and so I looked forward to receiving his call to tell me that he and Chanelle had set a date. This was to be a fairytale wedding of epic proportion. Here was a wedding where the groom was so hands on, it was like the couple were 1 person not 2 and I […]

Misty, muggy Monday morning Engagement shoot

Published March 16, 2014 in Couples and Engagement shoots

Monday mornings usually mean head down and get on top of the  new week’s admin and the weekend’s shooting before the manic flurry of more shoots, and Art classes begin… but last Monday was an awesome break from the mundane Monday routine – an Engagement shoot with Mike and Amanda.I am often asked why couples do Engagement shoots… for me there are 3 main reasons: 1. It is the most fantastic way to develop a relationship with your photographer/client ( just a little aside to think about… you will probably spend more time in the company of your photographer than […]

Food Market Heaven

Published March 2, 2014 in Peculiar to me

For me, Sunday is a day where if at all possible, I do as little as is humanly possible given the frenzy of my life. If I have to do something, it revolves almost soley around things I am passionate about…and one of those passions is food! The Green with Envy Farmers Market was the brainchild of Sergio Moreira –  greenwithenvymarket@gmail.com – […]
